I maneged to write a small file at the beginning of a QIC-24 1/4" tape
instead of appending it. Now I can not longer read the data past the
end of that file; I am getting I/O error. I have experimented with
fsr past the EOM, but it will not work. I also tried to open the
tape in append mode and write over the EOM, no luck either. My last
try was to write over the EOM, remove the tape, and try to read, but
I got I/O error again: presumably the records were not synchronised.
Any ideas how I can retrieve the data (in raw form) after the EOM?
I am running SunOS 4.1.3. Many thanks,
Diomidis
