International Distinctions and Awards

A recent study of the London School of Economics (LSE) about the European scientific community in the area of Information Systems ranks the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in the 9th position among European Universities with regard to its contribution to the scientific area at hand. The study was based on the scientific contribution to the top annual scientific event in the field, namely the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), in the last 10 years, both at University level and individual researcher level. ECIS has a yearly participation of about 300-400 scientists with 120-150 publications and a paper acceptance rate of about 25-30%. Besides A.U.E.B., LSE, Warwick University, Erasmus University, Copenhagen Business School, University of Bath, Brunel University, St Gallen, etc are listed among the top European Universities. It should be noted that A.U.E.B. ranks as the top university in Southeastern Europe, and among the three top Universities not using English as a first language.

The results in the international test GMAT reached an average score of 645 for the class of the full time students 2003-2004 for the MSc in Decision Sciences. According to the Business Week magazine these results, placed the graduate program Decision Sciences in the 8th place among all the European Business Schools. The European Universities that are placed in the first positions are the London Business School, INSEAD, Oxford (Said), IMD (Switzerland), NIMBAS, IESE (Spain) and Boconi (Italy). This confirms the international opinion that the Graduate Program in Decision Science is "one of the leading International post-graduate programs in Management and Business Administration in Europe".
