Eric Van Heck is a Professor of Business
Administration at Erasmus University’s Rotterdam School of Management,
where he teaches in the international M.B.A. program and in the Global
eManagement (GeM) program.
His research concentrates on the design of
electronic markets and on the design of business modularization. In his
research he helps companies to develop innovative, electronic auctions.
He is a member of the Erasmus Research Institute of
Management. Prior to joining Erasmus University, van Heck was a Research
Fellow at Tilburg University, an Assistant Professor at Wageningen
University, and a visiting scholar at New York University, and he has
worked for Cap Gemini.
Eric van Heck has published in journals such as the
California Management Review, Communications of the ACM, Harvard Business
Review, Information Systems Research, and WirtschaftsInformatik. He is a
member of the editorial board of Electronic Commerce Research, the Journal
of Information Technology, the European Journal of Information Systems, and has written or edited twelve books
Since 2002 he is a visiting professor of the Helsinki School of Economics. In 2003 he was honored with a honorary fellowship from the Athens University of Economics and Business for 'his exceptional contribution to the international academic community'.
